Well, I have submitted my registration and paid up for The Drivers Edge event in Nov at Texas World Speedway. This will be my first time racing on a track in my new Audi — it is going to be awesome!
I’m hoping to get a few tweaks done to my car beforehand though:
I also have to pick up a helmet and maybe some other unnecessary racing gear.

Well after a ~5 month wait my custom ordered 2009 Audi A5 S-Line has finally arrived. I have to give a huge shout out to Nathan Spencer over at Cavender Audi who helped me through the entire processes and actually moved me into an unexpected allocation which shaved months off my order time (thanks Nathan!). The car is beautiful, everything I thought it would be and more. I’m really glad Audi changed the S-Line seats to Alcantara, the faux suede is awesome. I’m still breaking in the car “somewhat” easily, so I haven’t gotten on it too hard, but for being the 3.2L V6 it has some POWER, especially in DYNAMIC mode via Drive Select — another MUST HAVE if you are picking up an A5/S5. Gas has been great, B&O sound is great, lots of trunk space. I just cannot say enough good things about this car. My only complaint is that I liked the Nav system in my Lexus better, and I believe Audi has a brand new MMI/Nav system coming out later this year that I’m going to miss out on, oh well. I took some shots yesterday after cleaning my car for a few hours, enjoy!

So I had one of the helpful members at the www.audiworld.com forums which I frequent run my Audi commission number (order number basically) and they confirmed that it now has a VIN, meaning it has been built. This is great news and means that the dates I was given by my dealer are fairly accurate. According to my last update my car should have been loaded on the boat this past week and be on its way across the pond. It is scheduled to arrive in just a few weeks but I cannot wait! It will end up costing me a lot of money, but I think it will be worth it. This may very well be the nicest car I will ever own, although I hope not, I am going to enjoy it while I can.
For those who don’t know, I ended up trading in my Lexus in October to purchase the truck I had originally planned on. It seemed like a good idea at the time because I really missed having a truck for certain things. I did get attached to the sports car feel, but decided I could live without. Having the best damn truck on the road didn’t hurt either.
So here it is, roughly 9 months later and I’m waiting for my new car to arrive from Germany. I love my truck and I hate the thought of giving it up, but I’m simply not using it for anything “truck” related and with gas doing its thing I figured I’d make the move back to a small car for more than a few months. Also, my truck is staying in the family which is nice (dad is buying it), so maybe I’ll get to still drive it every once in a while.
When I started thinking about going back to a car a few months ago I was doing my due diligence and making sure I looked at everything on the market in the class I wanted. Either a small sports coupe or sedan. Naturally I prefer the sedan for the additional room in the back seat, but I really don’t carry around many people. So I ended up looking at the IS350/IS-F again, the Infiniti G35S/G37S, Mercedes C350, and the Audi A5/S5. I has originally wanted to purchase the A5 or S5 last year, but the car was not even released yet and I thought it was too expensive. After a long debate and narrowing it back down to either the Audi or the Lexus, I decided to try something new and pick up the Audi A5. My original order was for the S5 which I would LOVE to have, except the $64k + price tag scared me a little and the fact that the gas millage is almost identical to my truck. That plus the requirement for premium gasoline pretty much made that decision for me, and then there was the $1,300 gas guzzler tax which was just a complete waste of money. The extra ~90HP and sound from the V8 engine would be nice, but for now I can live without. The A5 is nothing to complain about

I recently purchased MarsEdit for Mac OS since I wanted to be able to write blog posts for some of my Wordpress and Drupal sites via a desktop application. This is great if you like to write posts while you don’t have an internet connection, or if you are writing some long stories and need to work on the draft for a while.
Integration with Wordpress and Drupal sites are seamless and I have not experienced any problems thus far (only been using it a few days, but still). It supports tagging, categorizing, setting post status, comment settings, enabling trackbacks, markup and much more! Not too shabby for $29.95.

After waiting over 2.5 months for my truck I grew a little cold and decided to look into other options. After looking at several other vehicles I decided on a 2007 Lexus IS350 and I am very satisfied with my purchase! Check out the pics:
